This Canon PowerShot G16 digital camera, launched in 2013, has been with me for over a decade. I've changed its lithium battery three times, and currently, all functions are still working well. Despite the convenience of immediate editing and uploading with an Apple iPhone for everyday photography, which has become a handy tool, I still often take this digital camera out to experience the feeling of operating a camera. The Canon PowerShot G16 features a 5x zoom lens with a 135 equivalent focal length of 28mm-140mm. To maintain image quality without using digital zoom, I can attach the original 1.4x teleconverter lens (TC-DC58E) from Canon, extending the telephoto focal length to 196mm.

這台2013年上市的Canon PowerShot G16隨身數位相機，我已經使用了十幾年了，鋰電池也換過三輪，目前各項功能都還很正常，雖然Apple iPhone手機拍的照片具立即編輯和上傳的便利性，已經成為日常生活照的攝影利器，有時候我還是常常帶這台數位相機出門，回味一下操作相機的感覺。Canon PowerShot G16的鏡頭具備五倍變焦，135等效焦距是28mm-140mm，為了能夠在不使用數位變焦，維持原解析度的影像品質下，可外掛原廠1.4倍望遠鏡頭(TC-DC58E )，讓望遠的焦距達到196mm。

During a recent visit to Keelung's Badaozi Fishing Port, I exclusively used the Canon PowerShot G16 + TC-DC58E for photography. The weather that day was overcast, and the camera's white balance faithfully portrayed the simple fishing port, lacking the vibrant tones of smartphone photos, which made it feel like a true representation of what was seen. Several small fishing boats equipped with high-wattage lights were moored in the port, used for attracting light-sensitive fish or squid during nighttime fishing, also known as 'lantern fishing'.

這次到基隆八斗子漁港一遊，就完全使用Canon PowerShot G16 + TC-DC58E來拍攝。當天天氣是陰天，相機本身的白平衡忠實的呈現樸實的漁港，少了智慧手機照片的鮮豔色調，讓人感覺到這才是真正的所見及所得。漁港內停了數艘釣小管的漁船，船上裝載有高瓦數的電燈，夜間可吸引趨光性的魚群或小管靠近捕撈，也稱作燈火漁業。

A Visit to Tamsui Shell Warehouse

A few days ago, thanks to my mother-in-law's recommendation, I discovered that there is a 'Shell Warehouse' near the Tamsui MRT station. Yes, it's the Shell that sells petroleum! Coincidentally, today my child is participating in soccer training at Tamkang University in Tamsui. After handing my child over to the team coach, I took my NONS SL42 instant camera to the 'Shell Warehouse' to take photos. The entire area is very clean, and the buildings have been well restored (at least to us non-experts).

前幾天經岳母介紹後，我才知道淡水捷運站旁有個「殼牌倉庫」，沒錯，就是那家賣石油的 Shell！剛好今天小孩到淡水真理大學參加足球集訓，把小孩交給球隊教練後，我就帶 NONS SL42 拍立得相機到「殼牌倉庫」拍照，整個園區很乾淨，建築物也修復的不錯 (對我們外行人而言)。

Recently, I've collected three L39 lenses:

1. Konica Hexanon 35/2: Derived from Konica's fixed-focus automatic camera Hexar, this lens was limited to 1000 units in 1996. It features a 7-element, 6-group design, reportedly inspired by the Leica Summicron 35/2. It has a minimum focusing distance of 0.9 meters, aperture range from 2 to 16, and a 46mm filter thread. It comes with original lens hood and front/rear caps. The one I have is numbered "853."
2. Kinishiroku Hexar 50/3.5: This lens emulates the design of the Leitz Elmar 5cm f/3.5. It has a 4-element, 3-group Zess Tessar design, with a minimum focusing distance of 3.5 feet and aperture range from 3.5 to 22. It was first sold in 1955, paired with Japanese-made cameras mimicking the Leica III (L39) such as Chiyotax, Leotax, Nicca, etc.
3. Voigtlander Color-Heliar 75/2.5: Released in 1999, this is said to be the first 75mm lens with an L39 mount after World War II. It features a 6-element, 5-group design, with a minimum focusing distance of 3.5 feet or 1 meter, and aperture range from 2.5 to 16. It has a filter thread of 43mm.

最近收集了三顆L39鏡頭: 

1. Konica Hexanon 35/2 源自Konica的定焦自動相機Hexar的鏡頭，在1996年限量銷售1000顆，鏡組是7片6群的結構，據說是源自Leica Summicron 35/2的設計，最近對焦距離為0.9米，光圈為2~16，濾鏡口徑46mm，附有原廠遮光罩與鏡頭前後蓋，我手邊的這顆是編號"853"。
2. Kinishiroku Hexar 50/3.5 模仿 Leitz Elmar 5cm f/3.5 設計的鏡頭，鏡組同樣是是4片3群的Zess Tessar設計，最近對焦距離為3.5英呎，光圈為3.5~22，濾鏡口徑34.5mm。首次銷售是在1955年，搭載一樣是模仿Leica III (L39)相機的日本製相機，如Chiyotax、Leotax、Nicca等品牌。
3. Voigtlander Color-Heliar 75/2.5 1999年上市，據說是二次世界大戰後的第一顆L39接環的75mm鏡頭，鏡組是6片5群的結構，最近對焦距離為3.5英呎/1米，光圈為2.5~16，濾鏡口徑43mm。

The 1955 Kinishiroku Hexar 50/3.5 lens, paired with the 2015 Sony A7 II, demonstrates how the advent of full-frame mirrorless digital cameras has revived many vintage lenses in the digital imaging era. Additionally, it's suggested to consider versions of Leica L39 to Sony E mount adapters with close focusing functionality, allowing traditional rangefinder lenses with limited focusing to focus closer than 1 meter.

1955年的 Kinishiroku Hexar 50/3.5 老鏡搭上 2015年的 Sony A7 II，多虧全幅無反數位相機的問世，讓許多老鏡可以在數位影像時代重生。另外，也建議Leica L39 轉 Sony E接環的版本可以選購有微距條焦功能的版本，可讓傳統只能對焦到1米左右的測距相機鏡頭可以近拍到1米以內。

In late August 2021, as the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in Taipei gradually subsided, restrictions began to ease, and kids' soccer training resumed. During a few days when I had spare time while accompanying my child to classes at Da Jia Riverside Park, I took a stroll nearby with these three L39 lenses and the Sony A7 II camera, capturing some test shots.


2021年8月下旬，台北第一波Covid-19重大疫情逐漸消退，大家也開始解封，小孩的足球集訓也展開了。趁著幾天到大直迎風河濱公園陪小孩上課的空檔，我帶這這三顆L39鏡頭和Sony A7 II相機在附近逛了一圈，留下一些測試相片。

Hasselblad 500c and four Zeiss Lenses . . : Go Go GO! @ Taipei Water Museum 自來水博物館

Today I'm going to share about this group of Grandpa-level medium-format cameras. I got hold of this 500c probably before 2009, but it wasn't my first Hasselblad set. My first set should have been around 2000, when I collected the 500cm, 50/4 C black lens, 80/2.8 CF, and 180/4 CF. I remember taking it to shoot the scenery of Kinmen. This set of Hasselblad focuses on the Carl Zeiss C white lenses from the same period as the 500c, which should have some differences in coating technology compared to the later red T C black lenses and red T* CF black lenses.

The shooting location this time is the popular wedding photography holy ground in Taipei - the Taipei Water Museum. The black and white film used is ILFORD HP5 PLUS 400, scanned with an EPSON V750PRO scanner. Actually, I've never been able to handle scanning well, but at least it's better than the digital files scanned by general stores.

今天來分享一下這組阿公級的中型相機。入手這台500c應該是2009年以前的事了，不過不是我的第一組哈蘇。第一組應該是早在2000年左右，當初收集了500cm, 50/4 C 黑鏡, 80/2.8 CF 和 180/4 CF，記得曾經帶去拍攝過金門風情。這組哈蘇，專攻500c同一時期的 Carl Zeiss C 白鏡，跟後來的紅T C黑鏡和 紅T* CF黑鏡再鍍膜技術上應該是有些差異。

本次拍攝地點是台北熱門的婚紗攝影聖地-自來水博物館，黑白底片是ILFORD HP5 PLUS 400，底掃是EPSON V750PRO。其實我對底掃一直沒有辦法操作的得心應手，不過至少比一般店家掃的數位檔好一些。

"During the Japanese colonial period in the 40th year of the Meiji era (1907), the Governor-General's Office invited William K. Burton, a British consultant for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Japan at the time, to assist in sanitary engineering in Taiwan. This included water source surveys. Following Mr. Burton's advice, a water intake was built by the Xindian River at the foot of Mount Xia Guanyin, with the aim of taking raw water. A water treatment plant was established at the foothills, treating the water before pumping it to a reservoir on the mountainside. By gravity, the treated water naturally flowed down to supply daily water to residents.

In the 41st year of the Meiji era (1908), the water intake and pumping station buildings and equipment were completed. In the 42nd year of the Meiji era (1909), the water supply pipelines, water treatment plant, and reservoir were fully completed. The water treatment plant began supplying water, with an output of 20,000 tons. The first phase aimed to supply water to 120,000 people and was named the Taipei Water Source Slow Filtration Plant. From then on, Taipei's water supply entered the era of modernization.

"日治時期明治40年(1907年)，總督府聘請當時日本內務省擔任衛生工程顧問的英國人威廉巴爾頓(William K. Burton)來臺，協助負責衛生工程包括了水源調查，依巴爾頓先生生前之建議， 在今公館小觀音山腳下新店溪畔建取水口，以引取原水；在山麓設淨水場，進行淨水處理，再將處理過之清水，以抽水機抽送至山上之配水池，藉由重力方式自然流下，供應住戶日常用水。

日治時期明治41年(1908年)取水口、唧筒室建築與設備裝置先行完成，日治時期明治42年(1909年)輸配水管、淨水場及配水池全面完工，淨水場開始供水，出水量2萬公噸，第一期計畫用水人口12萬人，並命名為臺北水源地慢濾場，從此臺北自來水開始邁入現代化之供水系統。

Rollei 35TE ^_^ Mr. Hoffman's Giant Yellow Rubber Duck 霍夫曼先生的黃色小鴨

This Rollei 35TE can be considered a "boomerang camera." The last time it was in my collection was around 1997. I remember taking it to shoot in downtown London. Later, after purchasing the Contax T2, I temporarily let go of this camera. The Rollei 35TE is a mechanical camera. Its predecessors are the Rollei 35 and Rollei 35T. The metering on the earlier models was done with a needle on the top, while the 35TE has LED lights inside the viewfinder, indicating underexposure, normal exposure, and overexposure. I prefer the latter.

This is an extremely lightweight manual camera with excellent lens quality. The focal length is 40mm, with a Tessar lens consisting of 4 elements in 3 groups and an aperture of f/3.5. Due to its age, the metering may not be accurate. It's recommended to calibrate it using a SLR camera metering (such as a white wall, preferably with a gray card) before use, and then it can be used for an extended period.

The focusing function is simple visual focusing, so you need to practice your ability to estimate distances. Generally, as long as you have a rough idea of distances from 1m to 10m, you should be able to handle it well. The photos taken on the streets of London (in the evening) on the website were taken in this manner, with shutter speeds of 1/30 or 1/60 seconds, using the smallest aperture and the maximum depth of field to avoid focusing errors.


這台 Rollei 35TE 算是回鍋相機，上次在我的收藏裏應該是1997年左右吧，記得我還帶去倫敦市區拍攝，後來因為購入了Contax T2，就暫時出脫了這台相機。Rollei 35TE是台機械相機，她的前兩代分別是 Rollei 35和Rollei 35T，其測光表是位於機頂指針式的，35TE已經變更為觀景窗內的LED燈號, 可顯示曝光不足、正常、過量，我比較習慣後者。

這是一台非常輕便的手動相機, 鏡頭品質沒話說, 焦距40mm, 鏡組4片3群, 光圈3.5的Tessar鏡頭. 測光表可能因為年代久遠會有些不準, 建議使用前先以單眼相機測光(如白牆, 有灰卡更好)進行校正, 之後就可長期使用了.

對焦功能是很陽春的目測對焦, 所以要先練一下自己的目測能力, 一般只要對1M到10M的距離有些概念就可得心應手, 網站所拍攝的倫敦街頭(傍晚)就是以這種方式拍攝, 快門1/30或1/60秒, 以求使用最小光圈與最大景深, 避免目測對焦的失誤.


During the test period with the film loaded, Mr. Hoffman's giant yellow rubber duck happened to arrive at the Glory Pier in Kaohsiung for an exhibition, so I casually took a few shots.

裝上底片測試期間正好與上了霍夫曼先生的黃色小鴨到高雄光榮碼頭出展，隨興拍了幾張。





"The giant yellow rubber duck "Rubber Duck" arrived in Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong in May this year, immediately causing a craze. It even attracted many Taiwanese tourists to Hong Kong to witness its appearance. At that time, Dutch conceptual artist Florentijn Hofman, when interviewed, revealed his idea of wanting to visit Taiwan. With the efforts of Keelung Port, Taichung Port, and Kaohsiung Port, yes! The Rubber Duck is finally coming to Taiwan!

With the strong efforts of Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, it was confirmed that the Rubber Duck would first meet with everyone at the Glory Pier in Kaohsiung. Mayor Chen Chu announced on August 5th that Dutch conceptual artist Florentijn Hofman has signed a contract with Kaohsiung City. It was confirmed that from September 19th (Mid-Autumn Festival) to October 30th, 2013, the yellow Rubber Duck will be exhibited at the Glory Pier near the exit of Love River in Kaohsiung. After the news was released, it excited many people who learned about it."

A Waterproof Camera 防水傻瓜相機 華山隨拍

Basically, it's a point-and-shoot camera, paired with a waterproof case, claimed to be able to withstand depths of up to 3 meters underwater...though I haven't tried it.

Insert the batteries, put on the waterproof case, unlock the shutter, take the shot, and it automatically advances the film. It not only has a built-in flash but also an external underwater viewfinder. Remember to open the built-in lens cover before diving. The lens focal length is not indicated, but it appears to be a plastic lens. When I bought the camera, the store included a roll of Kodak Gold film. I took it to the Huashan 1914 Creative Park to shoot, and the colors were very strange, with high contrast. Just thought I'd share that for reference.

基本上是一台傻瓜相機，加上一個防水殼，號稱可以水下3米 ~ ~ ~ ~ 沒試過。

裝上電池，穿上防水殼，打開快門鎖，拍攝，自動過片。不只有閃光燈，也有外接水中觀景窗，要記得下水前要先打開內建鏡頭蓋。鏡頭焦距沒有標示，看起來應該是塑膠鏡片，當初買相機時，店家附了1捲柯達金軟片，我帶到華山藝文特區去拍攝，顏色很詭異，反差很大，給大家參考了。
